I’m Amber. I was rescued from a hoarding situation, where my world was constantly changing, loud and fast, and my very survival depended on finding a quiet corner to disappear into. To become invisible.

When I first arrived at the sanctuary, I watched everything from a distance.. But against the odds, I've learned that the world can be a pretty gentle place when you find the right person.

Sometimes if you move your hands too quickly, I will still flinch. But if you sit quietly by my side with a brush, you'll learn how quickly my heart still opens up. I love being brushed and if you take the time to pamper me with a groom, I will utterly adore you.

If you'd like a calm, peaceful dog who likes to take life at a slower, more deliberate pace, I would love to wander along with you on walks where we get to get to stop and smell the flowers.

I long for a peaceful, quiet home. Building a bond with me takes time, but once we do, I am quietly, deeply loyal. Let's start by just sitting together.
