The Gem Project Sanctuary is proud to launch the Community Kennel Project - a new initiative dedicated to providing safe, durable kennels for dogs in vulnerable communities across Cape Town.
For many community dogs, every season brings challenges - from cold, wet winters to scorching summer heat - with little or no shelter. Through this project, we're providing safety, comfort and protection to the animals who need it most.
Our initiative brings together our in-house maintenance team, local youth apprentices and dedicated volunteers to build durable kennels that offer community dogs a safe place to rest, while creating valuable opportunities for skills development and community involvement.
SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN
We are inviting individuals, businesses, and corporate teams to sponsor a kennel and help provide safe, warm shelter for a dog in need this winter.
We also welcome corporate volunteer teams who would like to get involved in supporting the construction of the kennels and contributing directly to the Winter Warmth Campaign.
Donations of wood, blankets, and dog food also make a meaningful difference in helping us keep community animals warm, safe, and cared for this winter.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Sponsor a full kennel package:
R2000 — Large kennel package including food, a foam bed, and blanket for one dog.
R1500 — Medium kennel package including food, a foam bed, and blanket for one dog.
Each sponsored kennel through the Community Kennel Project provides a dog with safe shelter, warmth, and comfort all year round.
We’d like to highlight that support of any amount towards a kennel is deeply appreciated. Every contribution helps us provide safe shelter, comfort and care to more dogs in vulnerable communities.
