HER STORY

Stella’s story is one of heartbreaking beginnings and incredible resilience. She was brought to our attention by another rescue, who knew she needed immediate intervention. When we found her, she was being cruelly beaten by children. Emaciated, broken, and so unsound she could barely walk, Stella had clearly endured prolonged suffering. Her mane and tail were roughly cut, and a fake white facial marking had been painted onto her face. She was in such poor condition we had to physically lift her into the horsebox. When we arrived at the sanctuary and opened her stable door, she simply lay down — as if she finally understood she was safe.

PERSONALITY AND PROGRESS

A full veterinary assessment revealed numerous untreated injuries, and it was suspected that Stella had been hit by a car at some point. Her rehabilitation began gently, focused on healing her wounds and helping her regain strength. With proper nutrition and continuous care, Stella began to transform. Despite her trauma, Stella has remained trusting and kind toward people — a true testament to her gentle nature. She has now been backed and is working well under saddle.
