Rare Prophet

HER STORY

Rare Prophet’s past remains largely unknown, but it’s clear she was once a competing American Saddler. When she arrived at The Gem Project Sanctuary, she was severely underweight, withdrawn, and completely shut off from human interaction. She had been kept in a dark and damp stable with no food, no freedom, and no kindness.

LIFE AT THE SANCTUARY

Slowly, with proper nutrition and consistent care, Prophet began to heal. It became clear that riding was no longer something she could mentally or physically cope with. The trauma associated with being saddled was too great. It was then that we made the only decision that made sense: Prophet would remain with us, loved and free, for the rest of her days. She still carries some scars from her past — including wind sucking, a stereotypical behaviour developed from prolonged stress and confinement
