HIS STORY

Charlie came to The Gem Project Sanctuary as an emergency surrender. He had been living alone on a farm, isolated, severely underweight, covered in bot eggs, and suffering from poor hoof condition and lameness. The moment he stepped off the horsebox and called out — only to hear other horses calling back — was deeply emotional. It was the first time in a long time he realized he wasn’t alone anymore.

PERSONALITY AND PROGRESS

Charlie's rehabilitation was careful and gradual. Once he gained strength, he was introduced to a herd and quickly found his calling — becoming the “godfather” to the younger horses. With endless patience and a calming presence, Charlie teaches the youngsters how to be respectful, social, and confident.
