Flashing Sparkles

HER STORY

Flashing Sparkles came to The Gem Project Sanctuary as a broodmare, along with her yearling foal. Both were in poor condition — Sparkles was underweight, neglected, and in need of urgent care. One of her most notable injuries was a severe, untreated ulcer in her left eye. The damage left her with partial vision on that side, making her more reactive to sudden sounds or movements from the left.

LIFE AT THE SANCTUARY

Because of her visual impairment and the sensitivity that comes with it, Sparkles was lovingly welcomed as one of our forever residents. Over time, Sparkles has blossomed into a stunning, gentle mare. While she still displays some residual behaviours from her past, such as windsucking and crib biting, these have lessened thanks to the peaceful, stress-free environment she now calls home.
